Artist Leslie Giuliani's Demo and Workshop

Artist Leslie Giuliani, whose work in on exhibit at the New Canaan Library through June 25, will give a demonstration of the encaustic technique of painting and collage in the gallery on Friday, June 1 at 11 a.m. This traditional method of painting, carving and incising hot, pigmented wax lends itself to her colorful, sculptural pieces that have their roots in folk art. Everyone is welcome; refreshments will be served.

On Sunday, June 10 from 1:30 – 2:30 p.m. Leslie will lead an art workshop for children in grades 1 – 4 in the Children’s Program Room. Children will participate in a variety of activities that include illustrating books, creating colorful animals from basic paper shapes, and then placing these animals in settings the children embellish with drawings and designs.
